The UK Government has issued an urgent safety warning regarding approximately 85,000 integrated heat‑pump tumble dryers manufactured by Haier and sold under multiple brand names. These appliances present a serious risk of fire due to the possibility of an internal short circuit during normal use. Affected brands are: Baumatic Candy Caple Haier Hoover Iberna If you own or use a potentially affected appliance (at home or in staff accommodation): STOP USING the tumble dryer immediately. Switch off and unplug the appliance (if the plug is accessible). Check your model number and serial number on the manufacturer’s website to confirm whether your appliance is affected. Contact the manufacturer directly to arrange the free safety repair. Visit your brand’s product‑safety repair page (e.g. Haier, Baumatic, Candy, Hoover, Caple, Lamona, Iberna, Montpellier) and enter the model and serial number to confirm whether action is required.
